British artist Curtis Holder awarded residency at historic Yaddo artists' retreat in Saratoga Springs, New York
I am honoured to have been invited to spend six weeks in residence at Yaddo, a nonprofit retreat for artists in Saratoga Springs, New York.
For over a century, Yaddo has provided artists with a peaceful and supportive environment to focus on their work, offering residencies to professional creative artists across disciplines such as choreography, film, literature, musical composition, painting, performance art, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and video.
Since the first group of guests arrived in 1926, Yaddo has hosted more than 6,500 artists from every corner of the globe, representing diverse backgrounds. From stage to screen, canvas to installation, poetry to fiction, and musical composition, Yaddo artists span disciplines, decades, and geography.
My residency will take place from early March until mid-April, during which time I will focus on self-portraiture. It is a privilege to join this community and contribute to its legacy.
