British artist Curtis Holder’s drawing ‘Portrait of Peter Innocent I’ selected for Wells Art Contemporary exhibition
I am delighted that my drawing ‘Portrait of Peter innocent I’ (2021) has been shortlisted for the Wells Art Contemporary Awards (WAC) and will be part of this year’s exhibition.
Now in its 12th year, the Wells Art Contemporary draws thousands of entries from international artists wishing to show their work in the inspirational surroundings of Wells Cathedral in South West England.
The annual competition aims to stimulate debate, challenge and provoke, pushing the boundaries of the visual arts scene both nationally and internationally.
A prestigious panel of artists selected this year’s shortlist: Matthew Burrows MBE, contemporary artist and founder of the Artist Support Pledge; Dale Lewis, contemporary painter represented by Edel Assanti, and Nana Shiomi, artist-printmaker whose work is held in collections including the Victoria & Albert Museum.
The exhibition will take place in Wells Cathedral from Saturday 30 July to Sunday 28 August.
