Curtis Holder exhibits two drawings at ‘A Sense of Place’ exhibition at Bermondsey Project Space in London

I am excited to be showing two of my multilayered line drawings in a new exhibition this December at the Bermondsey Project Space curated by the Society of Graphic Fine Art.

‘A Sense of Place’ will feature works by diverse artists who place drawing at the heart of their practice. The term ‘A Sense of Place’ is complex. It can characterise the relationship between people and spaces, as well as a feeling or perception. It is often used to describe what makes a place special or unique, or to foster a sense of human attachment and belonging.

My two works are portrait studies of a friend, Erhan. They were created from life during an exchange of shared experiences as two children of immigrants to the UK; a conversation that revealed a mutual struggle to find a personal sense of place and belonging.

The exhibition will take place from 29 November - 10 December 2022 at the Bermondsey Project Space, 83-185 Bermondsey Street, London, SE1 3EU. Open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am - 6pm.
