Curtis Holder looks back at his commission of Carlos Acosta in a special episode of ‘Portrait Artist of the Year: The Exhibition’ on Sky Arts

Tune into Sky Arts at 7pm on Wednesday 13th April and take a trip down memory lane to rediscover the art and artists that have appeared on Portrait Artist of the Year.

This special episode of the programme follows the creation of an exhibition at Compton Verney Museum and Gallery, celebrating some of the portraiture produced during eight series of the TV competition.

I’ll be talking about my experience of drawing Carlos Acosta for the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, alongside other Portrait Artist of the Year alumni who share their experiences of the show.

The exhibition has been curated by Portrait Artist of the Year Judge and Curator, Kathleen Soriano, and features more than 120 paintings and drawings selected from the more than 1,000 artists who have taken part over the years.

The exhibition runs until 05 June at Compton Verney in Warwickshire.
